Ten Thoughts About Frames
Queensland Art Gallery, 2004-2005

'Ten Thoughts About Frames' explored the interrelationship between the history of art and the frame, including the use of framing techniques in painting, photography and cinema. Excerpts from Alfred Hitchcock's films 'Vertigo' and 'Psycho' were presented to demonstrate his ingenious means of framing scenes.

"..freelance curator John Murphy has a knack for putting exhibitions together in a thought-provoking and educational way. The inclusion of the Hitchcock film material is a masterstroke."
